London's ALL and Goethe Institut use the same venue to offer you even more choice this summer in a pick and mix programme! YOU CHOOSE…. A morning of ideas which you can apply to any subject, any phase; a morning of ideas for the primary context; a day of German-focussed sessions; or a mixture of them all!

Plenary– Helen Myers, (Chair of ALL London) & Karl Pfeiffer (Goethe Institut).  Welcome & Introductions incl committee members, speakers and sponsors. Kathrin Lauber, Teaching Expert, Goethe-Institut London & Karl will tell us about 'The Exhibition' - an attractive example of how you can integrate language learning with core subjects.  Also, find out about the British Academy Schools Language Awards 2015

10.25- 11.15               

‘Exploiting Texts’ Liz Black (currently a PGCE tutor, taught languages in both primary and secondary schools for 30 years and René Koglbauer. (ALL President) follow up Steven Fawkes’ wonderful January talk with further ideas and example. OR

Primary Get-together led by Nadine Chadier and Sylvie Bartlett-Rawlings Up-date on resources for primary from our lively ALL duo! OR

Producing and sharing personalised multimedia eBooks for iPads and Android tablets which promote creativity, collaboration and facilitate feedback -Joe Dale independent consultant for languages- and one of ALL London's best friends!

'Using poetry in the MFL Classroom' Following fantastic sessions and webinars for ALL London, Suzi Bewell will share more successful practice using poetry for all languages and all levels

‘Discovering Language’ – a multi-lingual language awareness approach for primary schools – a more realistic way to introduce languages for KS2. Peter Downes is a former languages teacher and Headteacher, Past President of ALL and ASCL, now a primary school governor and directing the Discovering Language project.

An afternoon for Germanists to include (1) Online ITT and CPD: Deutsch Lehren und Lernen.

How to get the most out your German teaching based on the brand new hybrid online teacher training tool of the Goethe-Institut. (2) What else is new from the Goethe-Institut? Online or offline materials, services, grants and much more.(3) Culture for the classroom with Gina Hall (4) the latest from the Primary  “Felix and Franzi” team; new materials, films, whiteboard apps and more for those who want to make the teaching of German easy, exciting and effective.(Liz Black),

 

And later? Visit Tate Modern across the Thames, or nearby St Paul's Cathedral. Explore London!
